Exhibition opening replaces teaching on April 11 – Welcome to the opening!

Dear students and guardians,

On Thursday, 11 April 2024, the Espoo School of Art will not hold normal classes, as we will be celebrating the opening of the spring exhibition and the final works exhibition at the AINOA shopping centre in Tapiola from 18:00.

Exceptions are the following groups, where classes will be held as usual on Thursday 11 April:
- All groups in Juvanpuisto
- Niittykumpu/Uusikumpu art clubs
- Åberg Children's House hobby clubs

Students in Thursday's classes are invited to the opening with their guardians, who are responsible for their dependents during the event.

You can dress up in a letter-themed outfit if you like!

We hope that guests arrive at the opening by public transport.

The final work exhibition will showcase the final works completed in 2024. 50 students, aged between 15 and 20, will participate in the exhibition. The final project is the culmination of the advanced studies in basic art education. The student chooses the subject and the method of realisation of the work or body of work, as well as the documentation.

The exhibition includes a joint work "Stories of Names" by students from the School of Art. The work consists of wooden letter cubes. On one side of the cube is the anfang, or decorated initial of the student’s first name. On the other sides, letters or pictures relating to the name have been designed.

The event will be recorded as a Facebook Live broadcast, which can be viewed on the Espoo School of Art Facebook channel.

The exhibition spaces are located on the 1st and 2nd floor of the AINOA shopping centre.

The exhibitions are open from April 12 to May 12, 2024 during the following times:

Weekdays from 10:00 to 20:00

Saturdays from 10:00 to 19:00

Sundays 12:00 to 18:00

Exceptions:

Tuesday April 30 from 12:00 to 18:00

Wednesday May 1 from 12:00 to 18:00
